MAC Pigment Sets Glitter: A Review

The MAC pigment sets glitter is a unique collection of loose glitters that can be used to add a touch of sparkle to your makeup look. The set includes two glitters, Gold and Museum Bronze, which can be applied dry or with a damp brush for a more metallic finish.

Gold is described as a 'sparkly chunky gold' and contains small, gold glitter particles that range in color from champagne gold to coppery gold. When applied dry, the glitter is quite sheer, but when used with a damp brush, it becomes opaque and darker. I found that Gold was similar in shade to NARS Nepal, which is a touch darker.

Museum Bronze, on the other hand, is described as a 'rich taupe with gold pearl.' It's a medium-dark brown with warm, golden frost and a frosted, metallic finish. When applied dry, it has a more frosted appearance, while applying it with a damp brush brings out its metallic side.

I was impressed by how well the glitters wore on my skin. After seven and a half hours, I only noticed some slight fading and very faint creasing. However, I did find that the glitters required an adhesive base or mix to stick to my skin properly.

One thing to note is that none of MAC's glitters are listed as eye-safe, which makes them unsuitable for use on the eyes or lips. This is something that I wish MAC would consider in future products.

The set itself contains a total value of $77.00, with 0.35 oz. of product including both pigments and glitters. Compared to other sets available from MAC, such as the Nocturnals/Black & Gold Set ($32.50 for 0.55 oz.), this one seems like a good deal.

Overall, I was pleased with the MAC pigment sets glitter and would recommend it to anyone looking to add some sparkle to their makeup routine. Just be sure to use them safely and responsibly.
